Minimax C26 Genius with Squaring Table
I have never been completely happy with the fence locking mechanism on the squaring table on my C26 & I presume the fence would be common with other models.
I am having a revised locking plate costed to be CNC'd in aluminium that will lock the fence with more authority.
If the price is reasonable, are any other Woodies interested in a small run? Peter

Looks like the same for the SC2. I'll throw my hand up as well.

Hi TT, the clamping mechanism is shown in the middle photo. The spacer shown meets the adjustable screw stop on the carriage. The OEM setup is acceptable, this will be an improvement as it will eliminate slop in the fence extrusion, but will only be worthwhile if the cost is reasonable. The machinist is quite busy & will have a costing early next week. Peter

I have a costing for a run of ten units in aluminium at 80mm in length (OEM is 100mm). Once I have checked that the prototype is accurate, I will have nine available with a 6X1.0mm x 35mm grub screw, including postage, for $32 each. Can members please confirm their interest before I proceed beyond the prototype. PeterMiniMax.png

Our saw hasn't arrived yet and being a freshly minted unit (and a lot of luck) the problem might not exist on it so I'll pass for now.
