    Default Mobile Base Help

Hello I am looking to build a mobile base for this

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/showth...light=swiftden

ANY help or suggestion are appreciated.

The saw weighs about 700 - 750kgs. I need it to be sitting down on the shed floor. i dont want to raise the height too much and i want to be able to wind down wheels so i can move it around the shed and also winch it onto the trailer .

I know you guys out there are usually full of inspiration. i need some of it. I have most tools just cant picture what i am talking about. eg how to get the wheels to fold/wind down to raise the machine off the ground.

HELP It is very very heavy and i cant move it around lol the joys of new big toys

I have a full size panel saw which weighs around a tonne. It's 80mm off the ground and I move it (when required) with a pallet jack. If you needed to get it closer to the ground you could use a crow bar to lift it off the 80mm packers and replace them with something about 10 - 15mm thick, just enough to get the crow bar under again so you can get it up onto the bigger packers.

I got an idea, its what Im thinking of doing for my router table.
Its using air pressure in a couple car tubes, make a strong platform that the wheels are mounted to, then make a box that just fits over it with an extra 10~20mm in height above the platform.
The 10~20mm of space is where the tubes would occupy to act as air bags... just pump them up a bit and it would lift and be stable because the tubes are contained and cant stretch any further.
Air bags in trucks can lift and carry huge weights...

Harry only things I can see wrong with that is a heavy end would tip the saw that way and the height may become an issue. It still has to go one wheels and you need some top quality ones that won't flat spot. Pneumatic cylinders are cheap, use those in the same idea.

I bought my pallet jack from supacheap auto during their twice yearly sale for $275. Probably about the same money as you'd spend on a set of wheels or wheel kit and a lot more versatile.

Make it with 2 tubes and 2 chambers?
For wheels you'd need cast iron with urethane tyres, I got some off ebay pretty cheap.

Swiftden, there's a few pallet jacks on ebay or Paramount browns have them.
