I realise this is a slightly older thread, but relevant to me right now. I am looking at the 3 brands ( Robland 310, Minimax 300p, Hammer C3-31 ) . See you mention the price difference, but the B3 is only saw and spindle moulder, while the Lab300 is the full multi combo. I am in Perth and ready to buy something, and here everything is basically the same price, except the Robland I can get a little deal on, so works out to be approx $2000 cheaper, with a little off the price and they also deliver and setup the machine. I am guessing customer service comes down to the actual dealer, rather than the manufacturer

    Hi Aegir

    I bought a Robland NLX310.

I was somewhat disappointed with the customer service.

The machine is good - well made, slider ran parallel out of the box, does what it’s supposed to. I can’t really fault it other than maybe the fine adjustment on the rip fence/planer fence is a little average but I don’t know how this compares to the others. Also the dust extraction ports are only 4”, I think others may have 5”.

I bought the Robland because it had the right size slider for my shed and 315mm main blade and scorer. If either Hammer or Minimax offered the same specs things may have been different.

I had a Robland NX410 for 2-3 years, I bought it brand new and was pretty happy with everything - it was a more economical option than Felder or SCM equivalent, so everything is done on more economically, the user manual and its content is not that flash when compare to Felder.

Service wise, didnt need a lot of service, the dealer should set up the machine for you when they deliver - not sure if this is the norm across the ditch.
Once setup properly you dont need much customer service, I didnt need any customer service,

One thing about Robland combi NX series machine ( not sure if they changed the design - I bought mine in 2013/2014) is that if the saw motor is burnt and require replacement, you need to lift the machine up with a forklift or pallet mover or a jack. swap out the motor from underside of the machine, not the easiest task.
