Squaring Up Motor With Blade.
I have a 10 inch Carbatech saw that vibrates when running. The motor jumps around a bit. like the belt is catching and releasing in quick succession as it spins and is causing the whole machine to shake which in turn is effecting the straightness of the cut. I have replaced the belt and tried a few times to square the motor with the belt but its still not good enough. Any tips would be appreciated. Has anyone tried the carbon fiber linked belts?

Some Suggestions
- linked or toothed rather than plain V belt
- blade bush may out of round and need replacing
- blade may be bent so try different blade.

Check grub screw in pulley(s), check fit of pulley(s) inside diameter on shaft(s), check bearings on motor and spindle.

Check that the pulleys are coplanar.
Check that the belt sits inside the pulleys.
Check that the belt is not kinked and riding on this.

Good timing for this thread. I've got very similar problems with my contractors saw.
I've replaced the arbor bearings, fitted a new blade and belt, the pulleys are nice and smooth and have no play when fitted to the shafts so the next thing to check is that the pulleys are co-planar. Not a lot of room in there for a straight-edge.
I'd thought of making some sort of brace for the motor so it doesn't bounce around as much. Not sure if this is necessary or even a good idea?Geoff
