    Default Opteco Blades

    Hi all,

Has anyone had any experience with Opteco saw blades. The local joinery supply shop has them and also has AKE blades. They said that the Opteco blades were of a similar quality and were significantly cheaper.

    Anyone knows anything about them?

    Cheers

THey looked like a good blade when I saw them, Cameron. (display at a trade stand.)

They're made in Bendigo. Now I'm not on the tools daily, I haven't seen them in use.

    Cheers,

    Thanks.

They sound like they might be worth a go then.

    Cheers

I'd go for them. You are not going to give them the same workout as a professional joinery shop and you would be supporting local industry.

Yep. I actually put in an order yesterday for a rip blade and a cross cut.

I will do a review (from the little I know of saw blades) as there is not much info on these boards about them.

    Cheers

    Jon,
Its worth looking at the dates on some of these threads.
Cameron Potter was also last active on the forums in 2016 so I I think its unlikely you will get a response

Thanks BobL, I actually did check both of those dates. But thought it was worth a go, he might get an email. Theres not much info/ reviews around regarding Opteco. Also thought 10 years is a reasonable lifetime for a good blade, he could give a good perspective. I started a new thread a few days ago also.
