hi Guys,
I have strayed from the MW side and have been looking at tablesaws.
I was disappointed in the Makita MLT 100 as it had too much plastic that looked like it would not last. Some plastics don't fare well up here in the northern tropics.

I nearly bought an Evolution Rage5-S 255mm Multi-Material TCT Evolution Table Saw ,online but Total fools were unable to supply and had to refund my money.
In hindsight that may been been a good thing. The blade selection available was limited, designed for different RPMs speed other than the normal standard and only available at TT's.

Other brands seem intent on foisting a battery system on to me . No thanks, $250 or so for a replacement battery , plus charger etcetera has put me right off them.

At the moment the Metabo TS 254 600668190 Mod No. corded saw table seems to provide some of those the features I like.

I am aware of the earlier model that had a problem with the screw that raises and lowers the blade.

The winding screw had a pointed thread and a video from a commercial joiner cabinet maker tradie that I found on utube ,said he had experienced 2 failures in under 2 years.

It came out that the replacement has now been upgraded with a square thread ( as would be found in a vice screw)

Long story short is that I am seeking feedback from owners of this model. Not having seen one in the flesh,so to speak I would rather wait for a while until I found out as much as I can about the model.

My intention is the make a cutting sled and to fit fit a zero clearance insert for cutting thin timbers for knife handles. The sled is for making slots in stacked vertical strips to make an inter lock frame for a small drawer cabinet.

I have sought out the local Metabo rep and he is bringing one along next month when he visits.

He tells me that the saw components are made in Germany and assembled in Malaysia . Better than that other place!

How ever the real good info whether good or bad will come form those who use the machine

Please,if you own one could you manage a few lines of what the machine is like in terms of its rigidity and expected longevity given it is touted as an compact onsite saw..

Thanks for your time

Grahame
