You could also achieve this with a dado set.

Thanks Fred but the bench saw shaft isn't long enough.

    Hi Rod

if the arbor is not long enough for 6 mm dado set, will it be long enough for a 6 mm blade?
Both blades should require the same amount of shaft length

    Hi Rod

what size blade -- diameter, tooth count, tooth geometry, size arbor -- are you looking for.

BTW, the thickest single blade I've been able to google is 4.36 mm

It's the teeth that are 6mm not the blade disc.

    Hi Rod

Northwood Tools (in Brisbane) used to sell Infinity cutting tools -- blades and router bits. Unfortunately, the company closed down about 7 years ago.

Your only option maybe to buy from the US.

Also as Lappa noted, the plate on Infinity's .25 in kerf blade (6.35 mm) seems to be around 5 to 6 mm thick.
    UPDATE -- I've now watched Infinity's youTube about their 7 piece thick kerf set -- 2 x 1/4 in blades, 1 x 5/32 in blade + shims
working backwards from info in the vid, the plate on the 1/4in thick kerf blade is around 4.05 mm thick.

I guess that this is within teh allowed tollerance for an arbor designed to accopmodate a standard 3.2mm kerf blade -- where plate thickness is about 2.4 mm -- but it would pay to check.

If you propose using the blade for general cuting, does your saw have the power to cut a 6.35 mm kerf ?
