No, one of these Economy Dust Extractor - 2HP | Carbatec
Shop vacs don't even have 10% of the airflow required.

Ideally you'd like to have something like this for dust control------> Economy Dust Extractor - 2HP | Carbatec but in the meantime the shop vac would be better than nothing, it all depends on how much you get into this woodworking lark, you know, one thing leads to another. Try a little woodworking they say, it's not addictive, and the next thing you're salivating over newer and better stuff, you haven't shaved for a week and your dog wants to be fed ASAP.

I have my saw on this base--------> Bora - Heavy Duty Adjustable Mobile Base | Carbatec

I think I may have had to cut it down to fit, but it works fine.
