SawStop in Australia?
I got a re-directed email from the US Sawstop firm about an impending shipment of the saws into Australia.
That followed an email I had sent earlier in the year asking about availability here.
Has anyone else heard much?
I'm almost settled on the Powermatic PM 2000, though may wait if the Sawstop is coming.

Hi Jeff..
I got the same email from them. I think it will be a case of wait and see for a while> My understanding is that they are looking at bringing them out before the end of the year (or at least early next)
Cheers

They're too late. I've already bought a PM2000. I've emailed them several times as well in the past.
Bit of a shame but I'm still happy with the PM2000.

No-one ever wants to be the first to buy one, Bob.
Took me twelve months to sell the first Hammer Bandsaw (back when I was with Felder - please do not assume that Felder are importing Sawstop - they're not), and now they are being ordered from Austria 40 at a time....

email response from Sawstop.
I sent an email to Sawstop yesterday asking if they are planning to export here any time soon, and reply is below.
Timbernut,
Australia is our next target market. We hope to be selling in Australia in the near future. Please check back in a couple of months to see if we have the product available at a dealer new you.

I want to buy one..... I was going to buy one here and bring it back, but seeing as they are to be released in Australia I thought I'd wait til I got home.
