Sawstop Jobsite Pro - is the fence really good?
Am going to return the DeWalt as the fence accuracy and repeatability is bollocks. Is the fence on the Sawstop Jobsite Pro really good?

I looked up reviews and there's plenty.
This extract from Amazon (just one I read);
Finally...THE FENCE
I really don't like it, but it has been accurate for me. The biggest issue is that when you go to lock it down, it tends to jump left or right, making your measurements off. After using it a lot, I basically slowly lock it in, see which way and how much it jumps, unlock it, roughly compensate using my best guess where to put it so it lands on the correct measurement.
It stays pretty much square if locked in correctly. I check it often though or check it when it looks like it is off square a little bit.
My big big suggestion with the fence, is while you are locking it in, push it forward. I had the same issue with a small compact table saw I had. If you put some forward pressure on the locking mechinism, it makes it lock in more true and doesn't jump as much.

Something strange happened when I went to Carbatec late this afternoon - took a look at the Sawstop Jobsite saw but drove home with the Sawstop Professional saw instead - oops!

This will definitely answer your query about how accurate the Sawstop Jobsite fence is
As it turns out, I have a SawStop Jobsite TS and I am very happy with it. I appreciate that a TS fence should not flex or "move" but I am also conscious that this is a portable jobsite saw which could not be expected to perform to the degree of accuracy that a "fixed" TS would achieve. In any case, the accuracy of my own woodwork is such that the possible minute deflexion of the fence would not add significantly to my problem !!
Cheers
Yvan

Have got to say that I am very disappointed in the Carbatec guys - I would have thought that they would have made sure that the pallet that the Sawstop came on was made of American maple or cherry or another useful American timber that we can recycle into something nice!
