Sawstop and treated pine
Will standard treated pine (bunnings) set off the brake. I know I can run it in bypass mode as a test but that's a last resort. Any sawstop users out there who have successfully cut treated pine?

I've cut plenty of treated pine from local hardware shops, Bunnings included, and never even given it a second thought. To be honest, when it comes to wood I just forget about the electronic smarts and cut whatever needs cutting.

I'll agree with LanceC - I've been fitting out the shed over the past few months, so I've put a bit of treated pine through my Sawstop without a second thought. And absolutely no problem in terms of inadvertent brake activation.

Not just left out. I have bought new treated pine that was soaking wet all the way through. Like everything else in life some common sense needs to be applied.

I find it amusing that people own a saw that they are concerned might not cut wood.

I have been working with treated pine. Its CCA treated so I cut it outside with a circular saw. Dont want arsenic dust floating around the shop.

The Arsenic isn’t an issue, the wood will kill you long before the Arsenic. The Chrome is the bit that would be of concern (Copper, Chrome, Arsenic) as it stays in your system for life. Even then you would need massive exposure to be of concern. Take the same precautions you would for any sawdust and you should be fine. I used to Manage a CCA treatment plant in another lifetime.
Cheers Andrew
