If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a pretty poor option. The tables are pressed steel, the frame is open contractor style and the fence is somewhat primitive.
Have a good look before parting with the readies!

He got the thing and it appears to be a competitor for the Triton Work Centres rather than table saws. It addresses some of the problems with a Triton
    1. The top is sheet metal or pressed steel but appears to be quite solid and very flat
    2. It has a 3 HP induction motor. This should run a lot quieter than a power saw hanging upside down in a Triton
    3. It has rise and fall controllable by means of a handwheel and a type of tilting arbor.
    4. It has connections for a dust extractor on the blade guard and below the saw.

Now some of these issues can be addressed on a Triton but at a cost. The take away price of the Scheppach hs120 is $385 with 2 years warranty. This is considerably cheaper than setting up a Triton and the more so when you add the options required to address some of the problems.

It is not a cast iron table saw. The rip fence is limited to 250 mm and I am not convinced about its accuracy in the long term. I will not be trading in my TS to get one. But that said, if I was starting from nothing and had a small budget, I would definitely look at one of these. I had a Triton for a 100 years or so and made houses full of furniture successfully with it. But if this machine had been around then I would have got it instead. I would have done some things to it though. I would have built the thing into a larger table and enclosed the whole thing to increase the weight and stability. I would certainly have done something about the fence and the ripping width. But my father is an inventor not a woodworker and I suspect it will meet his needs nicely.
