    Default Sheppach HS110 table saw

Hi, my first post so please be gentle? PS I am in the UK.

I have just purchased my first table saw, a Sheppach HS110, the assembly instructions are not very clear so here goes.
the rip guard above the blade is clear plastic, and looking at the schematic it just slots onto the riving knife, should it be able to 'rise' when the timber is fed in or should I tighten the screw and 'lock it at a set height?
