Howdi - been lurking a while, every year or two reviewing this community's feelings on Harveys (mostly), and then sadly realising I have neither space nor budget for a stonking big cabinet saw.

This year, though, I'll celebrate the end of my sufferance of the Triton workstation, and an end to consistent (and exclusively) 89.5° cuts on that thing, with the bonus of recovering my otherwise fine, but often ignored because of the bother to remove it, DeWalt circular saw.

I've just put the deposit down for a Harvey Alpha - only the HW110LC-36P - the plain cast iron model, as I just can't substantiate the need for the TiN coating for an extra grand. Also the colour would clash horribly with the cast iron table on my bandsaw.

Things I've learned in the past 24 hours include that a 10" cabinet saw doesn't require a 10" dado blade set. Also, the very appealing price delta, in the USA, of a couple of hundred USD for these two models is going to soon be matched here - but not in the good way. I'm paying $3000 for the 36P, with the 36 (TiN) being around $3950 - but the former's likely to move to $3500 on the next shipment.

Looking forward, in a couple of months, to join the happy Harvey owners club.
