    Hi Jase,
We are at opposite corners of Australia but we might be able to share info. How long have you had your machine?
I have used the saw, thicknesser and planer so far. The shaper has a crack in the cast so I am still wondering if it is worth repairing and setting up for use. I have bought a second hand router table and a new Triton planer as an alternative. The mortiser will be good once I buy some bits. I haven't found a supplier but I have had replies from Italy that say they will supply parts. I have been watching a bit of Youtube to work out the functions. I found the machine is similar to a Hammer B3 so that has been useful.
Last week a mate bought a B3 (not Hammer) from a local dealer for $1600. It's missing a few bits as well but I reckon he got a good deal. He got a phone number of an independent service guy that might be useful for finding parts etc. It seems that most of these Italian machines shared some components.
I have a box of parts and I'm not sure what some of them do. I might post some photos for your thoughts.
    Cheers,
    Gary

I have had the machine about 18 months. The sliding table, jointer and thicknesser have had a run but i dont have cutters for the shaper or mortiser. I will get some when i can justify spending the peso's. I am definitely no expert on the thing but if you throw up the photos I might be able to help. I did find an exploded view online which i think had all the accessories shown as well. I will see if i can find it again. Was in Italian though.

Here is a manual I got sent from Italy with some of it in English. It is a bit later version of my machine but it has been helpful with working out what is missing and how things are supposed to look. I have a solid round bar for fixing the fence where as this one has a rectangular extrusion. I am thinking that might be a good upgrade to stiffen up the fence. I use a magnet feather board to stop the end of my fence from moving.

I think I found a similar manual online awhile ago. I checked my machine it is also a 1998 model, serial number is a little tough to read but it looks like 784/1. It does still have the Gregory Machinery sticker on it, they being the dealer who originally sold the machine I guess. Gregory Machinery are still in business but no longer deal in Sicar from looking at the web site. I haven't tried contacting them about spares but they might be able to point you in the right direction for spares in Aus.

Something I found when I overhauled mine was the tension gear on the planer drive chain was not far off failing. As the machines are a similar age it might be worth a look. If it fails it will dump all the preload off the drive chain, could make life interesting pretty quickly. Mine did come from a cabinet makers shop and had not been looked after or maintained well at all.

Wow you did pull it to bits completely. That would have been an epic job putting it all back together. I checked my serial number is 756/1 and a 1999 model. That is odd because I would have thought a 1999 machine would have a higher number. Our machines must be very similar. Do you have any idea what these brackets are? They were in the bucket of bits that I got with the machine.
Thanks for the tip about the tip about the tension gear. I will check mine because I think the original owner of mine used it commercially as well. Where did you find a replacement gear?

The stripping down and rebuilding wasn't that bad. I had to pull all the height adjusters and the slide rails for the mortiser table, they were frozen in place. There was a considerable amount of effort with a lump hammer, drifts and punches to get them apart. De-rust everything including the top work surfaces and replace bearings and belts as it was reassembled. Sounds and looks kinda intimidating but take a little at a time and take lots of photo's as you go and it's not as complicated as it might appear.
Getting the bloody thing back into any kind of alignment was the challenge. I may have a said a naughty word or 98 431 294 562 310 864 231. Its not as close to perfect as I would like but it is close enough that you can't tell with the naked eye. Because I made some rookie mistakes (I have never pulled one of these apart before) I had to go back and do a couple of things twice. Hint it's a good idea to get the planer head alignment done before the saw table goes back in, don't ask me how I know.

My local CBC bearings shop was awesome when I walked in with bits that needed replacing. If they didn't have it on the shelf it was often in the next working day. From memory the shaft was replaced with something oversize as the new gear wheel had larger axle size. It also now runs on bearings not a bushing.

I cant help you with the brackets, I don't have anything close in my bits and pieces and I can't recall seeing them in my online searches. My first thought was some sort of stop for the rip fence or shaper hood maybe.

I put a different light source onto my makers plate it could be 748/1.

Hi Jase and Gary... Beyond Tools in Perth WA are selling SICAR machinery at the moment.
I am looking at the possibility of aquiring the Sicar C300 Combination machine. I came across this machine through Machines4You. The brochure here on this page gives information about Sicar, appears to be an Italian company who are now producing the machines in China. There is also reference to their range of machines and the detailed information regarding each.
Beyond Tools might be a good contact for advice and spares, or atleast point you to people who can advise you. I am still unsure of the product quality and reputation myself.
Trust this information is helpful to you and all previous contributors to this thread!

I just rang Beyond Tools looking for a part for my Brava 350 P/T. No luck I am afraid...they said there’s no chance of any parts for anything more than about a year old. If anyone has a chip chute funnel for a 14” planer lying around...

Go to a sheet metal shop with a good drawing with measurements, they’ll knock one up easy.

In all my years of hobby wood and metal working I still really suck at drawings. An embarrassing amount of design is conducted as a thought experiment.

I will though endeavour to do as you suggest. Otherwise I guess I could make a fibreglass version to fit over the chute. I have seen an online photo of an mdf box with outlet for use on the planer which I shall have to copy as well.
