Sliding table swing arm support woes - help needed.
Hi,
I'm having problems with the slider accuracy on my Minimax SC3 panel saw. Because of wear in the pivot pins (#10 & #24), and wear in the two support arm pivot holes (#4 & #23), the crosscut table moves vertically about 1.5mm over about a metre stroke. Also, the wear in the pivots causes the crosscut table to sag at the outboard end up to 6mm even with only modest weight on the crosscut table.
Cutting square at the blade is almost impossible, and it's driving me nuts. Might not be much of a problem cutting sheets, but I do all of my work with solid timber.
I need to have the pivot pins re-ground, and the support arms bored and bushed. Help making this happen would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps you might know of someone I Melbourne will to tackle this.
Cheers

Sliding table woes be gone!
Hiya,
I've put a lot of time into getting this saw to cut square and plumb. Gabbetts were a big help with diagnosing the problem, but being an older machine, not all parts are still available.
Bernie from JC Walsh put me in touch with a local engineer and he made me a new main pivot pin, cut off the end of the old pivot arm and fabricated a new one. He also milled up a mounting plate for my riving knife.
With the re-engineered pivot arm back in place and everything adjusted I couldn't be happier. Should be good for another 10 years.
Also, I'd like to recommend George from JMF Engineering 0425788285.
Cheers
