Spare Parts
I recently Won an auction for an old 12 4HP 3Phase Table saw. It need a little work, e.g. the motor needs replacing with a single phase unit and the wheels for the table tilt and lift are missing.
Does anyone have any recommendations / suggestions for good places to get spare parts from. I am not looking for original manufacturer parts, just parts that would do the job well.
I am yet to do a complete inspection but at this stage I think I am going to need:
3 HP single phase motor
2 table tilt/lift wheels
Mitre gauge
Mobile base

Electrical Motors,3 Phase Motor,Gear Motor,Industrial Electric Motors by Royce Cross - great for motors! Not sure if they have an agency in Canberra or not, but I got quoted $276 for a 3hp single phase motor INCLUDING gst from them.
For a mitre gauge and mobile base, Carbatec is the go. Should have both instock at a reasonable price.

As for the blade adjustment wheels, I'm not to sure on that one. You might need to try chase down oem parts, or at least take some decent measurements of the splines on your saw and see if any other brand can be matched up. Short of that, you may need to go to a machinist and get something made up.
Cheers,
Ben

More spare Parts
I have obtained a parts diagram and I am only missing the parts I mentioned before.
So I am probably going to go with a Motor from Hare and Forbes, an Incra Mirte Gauge and if I can swing it to handwheels from Blackwoods.
Now, Is a 3HP motor going to give me much advantage over a 2.5HP. I am concerned about the current draw of a 3HP motor but want to go as large as well.
Anyone have some ideas on what the benefits of a 3HP over a 2.5HP would be?

99% of the time, 3HP = a 15A circuit.
Most 3HP motors draw at least 10A spinning freely, load that up and it becomes higher. I'm not too sure how much difference you will notice in terms of cutting power going from a 2.5HP to a 3HP motor. My last saw was 1.5HP and my new one is 3HP and the difference is huge, if that reference is of any help?

progress
I am picking up a 2200kw single phase motor in the next few days. After hunting around I found one that should just slot in as a replacement for the 3phase one.
