Haha yeah I am a bit. Just so many things I want to buy but not enough money to go around.
Looking at cheap saws on marketplace really says a lot about what sort of people they were designed for. 6 months old but covered in rust, fences filled with cobwebs or missing entirely, side extentions attached but hanging at an angle doing nothing, mitre slots full of sawdust, comes with 3 rip blades for some reason. Definitely designed for the average DIYer to rip a few bits of pine for 1 project then be neglected. However part of me still has this dream that if I could get it alligned and put a good blade on then maybe it could function.
I try and convince myself to just grab the Sherwood and be done with it but then I then try to just talk myself into more; "oh just 500 more for the contractor version", "oh just 500 more for a SawStop", "oh just 600 more for a H&F Cabinet", "oh just 800 more for a Laguna Cabinet" and before I even notice I'm thinking about heading to the bank for a personal loan.
Machinery purchases are going to be the death of me...

This was my mistake.

Fortunately I managed to sell it (with sleds / jigs I had made for it) for almost as much as I paid for it.
The HAFCO Table Saw I have replaced this with, while not by any means being "top of the range" was what I could afford and runs rings around this thing - and is nowhere near as "scary" to use.
Having said that though, I still have an Ozito combination mitre saw which is a better saw than the Ryobi it replaced. With a decent blade installed, it is a good saw.

Noticed today on the Timbecon site that the Sherwood jobsite saw is made in Taiwan yet all their other saws are made in China. Seems odd to me, any idea why this is?

Perhaps a typo on the website?
I would confirm via email before making a purchasing decision on the basis of "Made in ...." That way you have done your due diligence in the event of a dispute - very hard to duck a "misleading representation" claim then (if proven otherwise).Mobyturns
