Squealing noise at startup on Laguna Fusion Table Saw
Hi, I have a 3 month old Laguna Fusion table saw that makes a really loud squealing noise when first starting up the blade. This noise goes away after about 2 seconds.
The noise disappears if i take the blade off and start up the saw. To me this suggests the drive belt is not tight enough. So I adjusted the tension of the belt and got it so it seems quite tight, but the noise is still there.
Does anyone have an idea if the squealing would be from the belt being loose? If so, is there a recommendation for getting the right amount of tension on the belt? Also there are 2 belts on this saw, one of which i think is notched.
The manual does not mention the tension of the belts at all and I've emailed Laguna but have not had any reply.
Thanks for any ideas.

You can normally tell if the belt is tight enough just by feel. Obviously it's not fool-proof, but you'll notice if it's really loose.
Try spraying some belt grip as well, that should sort it out.

Not sure of the drive setup on these but it might be worth checking that the pulleys on the motor and the blade spindle are secure. Could be a key has fallen out and the pulley is slipping on the shaft on initial startup due to the torque applied.
Does it squeal when doing deep cuts in timber and it loads up?Dallas

Well problem solved thankfully and amazing what a little bit of soap can do! After pulling the machine apart just about completely and checking bearings and everything, that the squeal was coming from the secondary belt connecting the arbor to a pully, and it was not the main belt.
The arbor however had been done up way too tight from factory, so I adjusted that so it spins freely. But the secondary belt is flat like the accessories belt on a car these days and the soap has sorted out it's squealing on start up.
Hope this helps someone to identify it on their own machine one day.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
