Default Stuck cast iron top on carbatec ts-c250p

    Hi all

I recently took delivery of a carbatec ts-c250p tablesaw. I am in the process of fine tuning it and need to align the mitre slots on the cast iron top to the saw blade. I have removed the four corner bolts connecting the top to the cabinet but still cannot seem to move the top. I cant see any other bolts and thus am under the assumption that the top may be stuck to the cabinet. I do already have the side extensions and rails on which may be making it more difficult to move.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Dan

how are you trying to move it?

with the wings and everything on you may need to apply a bit more force, normally a hammer is used to "knock" it in the direction it needs to go. if you think its stuck you can always just try lifting the front and seeing if lifts up from the base.

this is one thing i hate about the carbatec brand/generic chinese tools, the manuals are horrible. all that money for the tool and pics in the manual don't even line up and no one can be bothered to re do it. the saw stop manual is a novella with every bit of information and tricks and tips you could want

Yer, agreed, the manual is not great. This alignment should have been one of the first thing in the manual.

I have tried lifting the top but its lifting the entire machine as one even with all the four bolts removed. Maybe it needs some more brute force by way of a dead blow mallet.

DO NOT HIT ANYTHING WITH A HAMMER
use a block of wood or nylon.

I hope I'm not too late with a response!, Ive only just figured this one out myself!. See my thread: Calling All Carbatec TS-C250P Owners!

Basically you have two small set screws next to the left corner mounting bolt and the right corner mounting bolt holding the cast iron top in place!. The Saw is excellent but the manual is cack.

Don't drive yourself too mad trying to align things on this saw.
When I owned one the mitre slots themselves weren't accurately milled enough to fully align to the blade with a dial indicator. Close enough with a combo square was as good as I could do.

Hi, I actually thought the same but I managed to get it totally zero on both ends without too much trouble at all using a Digital Alignment Gauge (iGaging), very pleased with the build of this cabinet saw I must say. Its just let down by a crap manual.
