Can anyone recommned a Table Saw?!
G'day all
Can anyone recommend a table saw for me to buy? I want to use it mainly for tenons and dadoes but obviously I will be using it for ripping also...
I am considering on buying a combination machine later so will only be looking at something cheapish at the moment (probably round 1k or less) and happy to get second hand, anyone know what I should be looking out for????

Hi,
I think you have asked the "what table saw" at a time when quite a few others including myself have probably exhausted everyone with that question Might I suggest having a bit of a trawl of the existing threads, and then perhaps if you don't find anything post again except perhaps include some saws you are already looking at and ask for comparisons.
But for the price you are after you would be looking at a Contractors saw, and my understanding is that you can still get a very accurate powerful saw in the Contractors style, you just sacrifice some dust collection and potentially a full cast iron top.
To get you started take a look at the Jet 10" economy, its $1400 but I am pretty sure you can get it for cheaper if you ask.

Carbatec also have a < 1K contractors saw you might like to check out, and then go looking for reviews and advice in this forum from those that probably have it.

The carbatec takes a dado, not sure about the Jet.
Good Luck
Cheers

Hi,
I just noticed that there is an $1100 jet the JPS10 and this has got some pretty good reviews on this forum, so I would suggest checking that out too, and it might be purchased for cheaper if you ask or look around.

Edit - the JPS10 ECON is $1100, the Saw with all the reviews in the JPS 10 PRO, sorry about that.
But the original Economy JET I suggested you look at does have some fans, including this one from what I can tell.
