G'day Woodie. If no-one in Darwin retails them and you can't arrange cheap freight back-loading one from Adelaide with a local removalist why don't you spend the time checking out whether it would be worthwhile importing half a dozen direct from the Chinese manufacturer and reselling them. I reckon the markup is huge and the profits would pay for the one you keep.
Just a thought.
Cheers (and yes I will be giving it a hard workout when it arrives. Sort the kinks out early is the go.)If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

There is a retailer in Darwin for Leda and Jet or any other brand , but it will be a special order so I'll still have to pay freight and their cut as well .Its just as easy to buy from South and just pay the freight. Then I will have to pay freight from Darwin 300 ks south to where I live.
I went there to see what they had ,but nothing on show ,just a catalogue and no firm prices they seemed indifferent to my needs so I'll give them a miss.Typical of Darwin businesses ,but they like to whinge when people buy out of state and on ebay or online.
As far as importing goes I think the cost of an importers licence would be way over any
savings I would make.
The guy at Ledacraft In Adelaide said he would get it to me easy enough.
All the big freight companies come through here and we have the train as well should be easy enough.

That was my CD of loud sawing noises. I'm pretending while I assemble her....
The sparky came at 10PM last night and put a 15amp outlet in for it. I had it suspended from the ceiling. I won't get a chance to use the TS until next week. Off to Melbourne tomorrow for a few days fishing with a mate. Gonna transfer the sawing noise CD to my little iPod so I can dream while I'm fishing.... ahhhh! wouldn't be dead for quids. If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

G'day Gumby.
And a mate needs some moral support is the real reason. We gonna go fishin' and get pi$$ed. Bloody women (forumites excepted )
Back to the new Table Saw. Took me all day but she's all put together now. Switched her on and nothing flew off and killed me. My word, its lovely and quiet. Compared to the Triton with the big makita its like comparing a bee with an F18A as far as noise goes. Haven't cut anything yet. Next step is to tune it up - get everything nice and squared up. Might pick up a Beermiester (? can never think of the bloody name) fence while in Melbourne. Will be out Geelong way. Any good stores out that way who would stock them I wonder?
The other questions I have are, what's the best method of cleaning the saw table of its factory grease? Should I lubricate the sliding table rails and bearings.
I'll do a review once I've fired her up in anger but i can say at this stage, the manual was useless. There must be money to made getting a chinese speaking australian to translate the damn things. I just followed the blow up diagrams. Only had to back track once in the assembly stage.
CheersIf you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

Turps or Kero. I used Turps. Wax the surface after, mate. I don't want to hear you weeping when you get back from the fishing and find it's all rusty.

If thats the case, then I think I'll get one. Seems best value all round, even if you pay the extra for a good fence. Why wouldn't the retailer advertise the fact that its a 3 HP motor? 2HP would be the main negative when comparing with the other 3HP jobs.
