Table saw on button doesn't stick - 'Taurus' brand, bought from Aldi
I've got a 'Taurus' brand table saw, bought from Aldi about 2 years ago. I'm not a huge woodworker, but it's been great slicing up a bunch of floorboards I laid and cutting up timber to make stretchers for paintings.
Just recently, I've got a problem where the 'on' button doesn't stay in. So the blade spins (and cuts) just fine while you've got your finger on the button, but the engine stops as soon as you release it.
Is this something that I might be able to fix myself? If not, does anyone know a good place to get a table saw serviced anywhere near Eltham in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne?
Thanks!
Mick

Hi Mick and welcome to the forums. Sounds as though the switch is clogged with dust. If there is anyway to expose the inner workings of the switch then do so and get rid of the dust. If you don't want to do that then look up Monty Electrical Repairs in Montmorency. Failing that you can get switch from Middy's in Bolton Street (as per cranky Doug above).
Hope this helps, cheers.-Scott

Thanks for the frank and forthright advice, exactly what I would expect (and truly appreciate) from the Woodwork Forums. Will post back once I get that switch out.
