Table Saws
The time has finally come to update the faithful old triton for a dedicated table saw and I am wondering what type of table saws other members have, and what their thoughts are on them: ie 10" or 12", different types of fences, blades, other accessories etc.
Single phase only.
Am thinking could possibly afford a bandsaw as well - up to a total spend of $2000.
Any comments appreciated.

Get a TSC-10HB, those who have 'em love 'em.
We don't however love Wongo.Photo Gallery

With your budget Geoff, check out a 12" in preference to a 10. More cutting depth is useful. I have a Leda 12HK and am very happy with it. 3HP, triple drive belts, excellent rip fence and it takes a dado blade.
Sitting on a mobile base, it's a lovely saw.
later edit
sorry, I missed the fact that you wanted a bandsaw as well. in that case, the TSC 10HB is probably a good choice. If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Yes. I've put a mobile base on it and I've got a couple of CMT blades. One's a combination blade and the other is for melamine and chipboard.
The saw comes with an excellent fence.Photo Gallery

A critically useful "accessory" is the Grizzly or Delta assembly manual (download) for their version of the saw - also search here for excellent in-depth advice on setup etc. The fence is A-OK; the guard is as useless as the manual provided. It takes a full 13/16 dado set. I got 40 and 60 tooth CMT blades and a mobile base - and a cover and a tin of wax 'cos I don't like rust.

TSC 10HB, Incra 1000 mitre guide, a combination blade and crosscut blade, and that will about do your $2000.
Later, as projects require, you can add dado blades. Personally I have found the mitre guide extremely good, and turns the table saw into a precision machine.

HAFCO(Hare and Forbes Co) ST-250, 10" blade with sliding table. RRP $1295, which leaves you plenty left for the Bandsaw. I'd recommend the Kreg Precision Mitre gauge to go with the ST-250 as well.

Geoff,
Just did exactly what you are talking about. I bought the Jet, mobile base and a couple blades, oh yeah and a 6" jointer
Each saw seems to have little "features" you either want or not. I think the Jet best suited my needs.
Good luck

Thanks everyone for your input.
I was sorta leaning towards the TSC 10HB, and as it appears no-one has anything bad to say about them, I think that is the way I will go.
Probably have to put the bandsaw on hold for a while, as I will want a mobile base, precision mitre gauge and a couple of good blades, and by the time I get it up here to Wodonga, there goes my 2K.
May even wait till the Wood work show is on in Oct and possibly get a bargain? then.
