I know that Jim Davey has often successfully welded cast iron.
Jim occasionally posts on here.
However, it is some years since I last saw Jim.
I do not know whether Jim is still doing cast iron welding.
I do not know Jim's current health status.
When I was last in contact with him, Jim lived in Falls Creek (midway between Nowra and Jervis Bay).
If you can get the broken part out of the saw, it might be worth contacting Jim about a repair.
Even with postage, getting the part welded back together should be a lot cheaper than obtaining a new one.regards from Alberta, Canada

Major just let me know that the yoke has arrived with them. I should get it next week.
Cost is $520 as they estimated.
Hopefully it fits and I can all the bits back in their correct places.
Looking forward to having a saw again.
It is a bugger trying to cut a straight line on my Hafco 16" bandsaw.Scally

Trupro repaired
Finally back together.
It was a pain getting the yoke on the trunions back in.
I put the Yoke together them with some fance jiggling I managed to fit it on the front trunion.
Getting the rear trunion onto the Way of the yoke was a real challenge.
A combination of jiggling and gentle pursuasion eventually got it in place.
Fitting the motor and the rest back together was straight forward.
The saw got a good clean and the top polished. Then I adjusted the top to get it aligned with the blade and fence.
Working fine now. Hopefully another 15 years trouble free use.Scally

It's great that the saw is back together and all functioning correctly again.
Jim Davey has retired from the commercial side of his business and is currently simply enjoying doing woodwork for pleasure, and all the other things one does in retirement.
He has also closed down his online sales portal - he had a sale of his last stock some time back.
I wish him well in his retirement

Thanks Tom
I always enjoyed catching up with Jim at the wood shows.
I hope he is enjoying the south coast. We know he will have nice sharp tools to work with.
