Just getting one off Tradetools could be a problem, I've sent three email enquiries and no one has bothered to reply. Gary Pye has been out of stock for months, but at least he answers his mail.
And yes Pker, how's it going ?

I bought my TS10/12 from Townsville Jet tool shop it's identical to the GPW .
The alignarip fence is very sturdy and of good quality .
I have since fitted a wixey digital gauge to help with my eye sight I also bought an Incra 1000se mitre gauge and find that very easy to use and very accurate one set up.
The saw dosent come with a blade as standard and I added a couple of Freuds but got sick of changing from rip to crosscut and went for a Forrest combination blade from Rockler which was on special at the time . Im amazed at the finish this blade leaves on the cuts .Well worth the dollars.
The machine combined with the couple of accessories I have added Im very happy with Im glad I bought it.

Tradetools 12" saw
Hi all,
I havn't really given the saw a good work out as yet, as I have been working 6 days a week & restoring a large silky oak desk for the daughter. However as I said previously , the router table was roughly .010" angled up across the table. I removed router table & cleaned all paint off sides of mating surfaces & refitted .Checked across with straight edge & was perfect. Next I drilled the router table to mount the router under as the clamp type takes up room underneath making the use of spanner when changing router bits more difficult . Next I wired router lead into saw switch so as to have power at router switch without having saw operating & fitted switch control that I made up off my old homemade router table.
The saw seems to have plenty of power & cuts true & straight.
Tradetools rang head office about the missing part of sliding table miter and were told by sales manager that the miter handle was to lock onto the table when in use. The next day the sales person that rang head office called me & said he had been talking to the workshop people at Eagle Farm . Turns out the sales manager was full of it & he had miter gauge there for me to pick up.
The sliding table seems to change hieghts when sliding . Probably about .010" - .015" but I havn,t had time to check that out yet.
Overall from what I have done on it , I am quite satisfied.
Also the fence seems very good.

So, I'm thinking of getting one of these on the weekend and I've only got 10" blades at the moment. Do you know if this model will accept a 10" blade safely? The arbor sizes are the same.

10" Blade
Hi newflavour,
I can,t see any reason a 10" blade would be unsafe.
Anyway the saw is supplied with a 12" blade.

hi pker,
is it possible to get a picture of the saw blade cover/dust extraction on your machine?
i think mine is missing the lever parts to allow it to slide up as timber passes under it. would be great to see how yours is connected to the riving knife.
cheers
Mark.

Sawguard/riving knife
Newflavour,
As you can see in pics the guard pivots at the black locking lever .
The guard height if locked by the lever when tight . The guard rises or falls with the riving knife.
If the lever is tight it will be rigid but if you just loosen slightly the guard will drop down at the front and when you push the timber up to the guard it will pivot up on the ramp.
Hope this helps.

Thanks pker. makes perfect sense. The manual that I have illustrates something completely different and I thought I was missing parts.

I'm in the process of finishing of a shed (abt 2mths at my speed) need to start looking at making decisions on machinery. Have been thinking about a 12M10A, info on this thread has certainly helped. One question - Is the 12M10A from Trade Tools capable of taking a dado set?

I did end up buying one and am super impressed with it. I will look tonight to see if a dado set would fit - I've not looked at this yet as I tend not to do dado cuts or have previously used the router.

Dado on 12M10A
bobth,
As newflavour said , I too have only ever used a router for this purpose. I can.t see why you could not fit a dado set , as there is a good 25 mm of arbor shaft protruding even with the blade mounted. In the attached photo , no blade mounted, the 16mm blade bush is very tight to remove from the shaft ,so I would think that a dado set would be well supported.

Pker,
Thanks for that.
The dado option is a nice to have. When I finally buy a machine I only want to do it once so I'm trying to tick off as many boxes as possible on my dream list.
