making throat plate
After read lots about making one most make them out of mdf, Just asking , I, am thinking of making one out of pine or sily oak, thinking soft timber easy to work with, when it comes to rounding the ends of, just asking ,GOOD idea or NOT

I think MDF is probably a better option. Although it's abrasive, it's very soft and easy to work. It also won't warp or twist due to changes in temperature or humidity and will stay nice and flat pretty much forever.
If you really want to go timber, you need a stable species and pine and oak definately dont fall into this category. Kauri pine and Rock Maple are great but expensive. Stick with MDF.
