    Question Trade Tools new 10" and 12" table saws - does anyone have one?

    I was at a Trade Tools shop the other day and they had an impressive looking (quality wise) 12" table saw with Biesemeyer style fence, sliding table (a bit lightweight in appearance - aluminium), cast iron router table section with router fence etc for around $1190 from memory. They also had a similar 10" model for around $800 from memory but it didn't have the sliding section and from memory didn't have the Biesemeyer fence. The bigest downfall that I could see was that they were both powered by only 2HP Chinese motors. Even if you added the cost of a 3HP motor as a retrofit the 12" still seemed a reasonably good buy. Unfortunately Trade Tools web site is not up to date so no more info is readily available to refer you to.

    Has anyone else looked at these or does anyone own one?

    Dear Billy,

    The generic machine name for the 12"er is 12M10A. I guess the 10"er is probably a 10M10A. I could only find one link from a search for the big one.

    Actually I think the 10" machine is the TSC-10B or is that the Jet?

    The 12" on that site does look like the saw at TraadeTools and the fact that the riving knife moves up and down, the Biesemeyer style fence and the colour is correct however it also has the router table extension and a sliding aluminium extension. If this is the saw and based on the fact that it is Taiwanese rather than Chinese then it may be a good buy - even if I need to upgrade the motor. Next time I am in the vicinity I will check the handbooks and take a tape measure to try and get some more info.

    I sent an email to the TradeTools web site seeking more info but no response as yet - do any businesses even respond to these emails - I sent a similar request to Gregorys in Brisbane for a price on a Jet saw and no response either!!

    Try ringing Gary Pye at Currumbin. I rang him on Tues but he was still at the Syd wood show. BUT he did call me yesterday with prices:
    Jet Pro shop $$1,250
    Super saw $2,100
    "Cabinet saw" JTAS $2,395
    Prices included delivery to southern suburbs of Brisbane.
    I have a thread on this.
