The table fitted to the WCA only has saw slots; there is no provision for poking a router through it hence why you have to purchase the RTA 300 router table. Which comes with its own mounting plate, and which the AJA 150 also won't fit.

I've done a bit more researech and it would appear that this fits some Mk3 tables, maybe not yours though. I'm not that cluey on Mk3's but I believe they went through many changes in their lives; it may be you had the bad luck of picking up an earlier one that you must use a specific flat bottomed mounting plate for.
No again. The WCA2000 used the RTA2000 router table when it fist came out and used that plate, the RTA300 was an update and as you say dose not use that plate so it became available separately for over head routing.
I own both the RTA2000 and RTA300 and 2 of those plates, I bought the extra one as a spare, so I didn't have to keep changing my router and jig saw over. When I got the RTA300 I carried on using the RTA2000 for the jig saw until I got the Trton 12" band saw and who uses a jig saw sticking through a table when they have a band saw?

Thinking you have a mk3 table (saw table with router hole). I have a mk3 new series ( saw table no router hole) with router table as a separate item.
my base has " new series" printed within the 3 of the mk3.
searched on eBay as it seemed the best place to get pictures of multiple models up at once. Very subtle differences once you start looking at all pictures. I just found one with router hole in saw table then looked at the differences in mine.
"New series" could be the key. You may not have a "new series" saw table. The router plate you picture (same as mine) is for new series and later.
anyhow I have a router table sitting in garage I no longer use, if it helps.

Does it look like this one? I believe that is the same as the one I had and the router fitted under the table as it has the hole in the table for that reason.

OK. This is doing my head in. Attached is what I think I know. Happy to have someone add to the Word file if it is going to help someone else along the way. In fact when we finish it might be a good thing to send it to Triton to confirm. When I started this I thought it was a simple question but was obviously wrong. Have a look at this, and if you can add some facts, please do so. I got most of the pics off Gumtree.

As for me, I guess I have a plate that will work for overhead routing but not fit under the Triton Mk3 saw bench. Maybe I should just look for a router table. Either that or build one myself to fit on the Triton frame.

Well I've learned something today; I never knew there was a router table for the 2000 series before the RTA 300 and thanks to the Word file I even know what it looks like! My apologies if I've misled anyone with my ignorance of Triton history.

My guess is then that the "New" Mk3 and the RTA 2000 use the mounting plate you have for fitting the router into the table,, this plate is still sold for overhead routing but the instructions don't mention that it will fit in certain router tables. Unfortunately it looks like you have an earlier Mk3 which needs it's own unique router plate.

If you really want a router table then I would only buy the RTA 300 if you're going to fit a Triton router into it. If you want to use an existing router you may be better off building a table from scratch. Combined with the Triton router the RTA is pretty good but is does flex a little too much for my liking and I very quickly got bored with swapping it in and out of the work centre so I had to get the table stand too. And for the price of the table and stand you can build a router table customised to your personal requirements.

    Hi,
The plate came as part of the router table kit it went with so did not need to be bought separately until the RTA300 came along and can not do over head routing without it.

    My router table
router fitted to the slide plate as per your original post/pic. Drop it into the guides slide it down just under a third of the way. The router table on one end slots into the two permanent pins and as you lay it over the router slide plate two metal angles that are underneath the router table fit over the router slide to hold it in position. The router table then rests on the side guide rails and two red plastic clips on the router table slide and lock into the guide rails to hold the table down in place. The router table is about two thirds the length of the Mk3 so there is a gap but it is on the out feed and never caused a problem. Before buying the router stand I would swap the tables over on the mk3 depending on what was needed, saw table or router table.

We seem to have run out of puff on this topic. I will include a slightly amended document to conclude the topic in case anyone else has the same issue. Thanks to all those who provided input. I am older and wiser. Could do without the former but glad about the latter.

After a few years I finally solved the issue. If you change the slides on the router table with the indents by drilling new holes closer to the flat section (i.e. to allow the plate to sit lower) it will work. You have to clamp the plate in place to stop it moving but I eventually found that with the lowered plate, and a clamp, I can use the table. Long solution to the problem.

I was looking for this answer myself and found this very old post along the way but also found the answer, so thought I'd post if incase someone else stumbles along it.

There is a flat plate that slots into the circular saw holder ,hence the little tabs that stick out.

This plate only came with units with inbuilt router holes in the top and was frequently lost, and a pain from what I see.

Modifying a sliding router holder is your best bet, or something there abouts.
