and so I did after almost throwing the fence out the door, however I still have this problem of out of square 1mm depth of table saw, granted thats possibly not much on standard timber but trenching the plywood along its joins made the situation very aware. Is 1mm worth being concerned about? yes to Riverbuilder derekcohan and the likes but to joe blo ??
If it does require attention, there appears no way to adjust it see pictablesaw fence1.jpg then should I just be content or look at a replacement and then what brand etc??

Any way to adjust the rail it runs on to be square to the table?

Now that you’ve shown a photo it’s clearer. The front rail that the fence runs along and clamps to should be adjustable or be able to be packed or shimmed. That’s how most big saws work too. Something like soft drink can thickness is what you will need to use, or heavy caterers alfoil cut up and folded and pressed. Make sure that the rail is straight and packed straight. Good luck.

That looks like the same fence as mine which is fully adjustable to align with the table and blade. Just as you have the grubscrews in the top of the angle to adjust the fence for vertical, there are also grubscrews in the table side of the angle to adjust the fence to be parallel with the blade. There is one on each end and you adjust them to get the fence parallel and balance their adjustment to get the locking level the right tightness.

have been inside for 15 minutes, when out in shed i discovered those grub screws hee its square, so a happy chappy then munching pizza while cruising youtube, what the 'ell do I find but one of our dear members adjusting his (same brand) fence

well it was a good morning, following Kuffys youtube offering, my blade & fence would be within a hairs breath of being 100%

then I proceeded to fine balance the zero clearance inserts, mine are home made 10mm clear acrylic and balanced them as follows
1 remove from table saw
2 clean up all ledges they are supposed to sit on, I used an old toothbrush
3 spread gladwrap over the whole gap
4 dobs of hot melt glue on acrylic where it sits
5 while still hot drop on top of gladwrap and press gently so all is siting sweet.
6 leave 5-10 minutes, remove clearance plate and remove gladwrap, test again.

I am feeling very satisfied. worthwhile mornings work.
