Default Can anyone vouch for Frezite blades?

I need to kit up my 3HP 12" cabinet saw with some proper blades. The combo blade that came with it is okay, but I want some better quality blades with some different capabilities.

This thread was very informative. Best table saw blades

My local resharpening service sells/recommends Frezite and says they're similar to AKE - both good quality European made blades.

305mm 48z ATB to use as a general purpose blade runs about $100 which I reckon is cheap.
A 24z FTB ripping blade about the same.

Later, I'd probably want a 80-90z fine crosscut blade also.

I'm inclined to go this option, partly because they're a great sharpening service, and no doubt they'll prefer sharpening blades they sell and know well, as opposed to some of the more elaborate grinds (like the freud premier fusion, which is also a contender).

At ~$100 a blade, and locally available, seems I can hardly go wrong.
Can anyone vouch for Frezite blades?

    Cheers, -RW

I went ahead and picked up two blades yesterday, and I can say, they're about 3 Billion times better than the blade that came with the saw. Big hunks of carbide that will take many resharpens. Probably 4-5 times more than the other blade.

And importantly, cuts like an absolute dream. Crosscuts in ply are glassy, no vibration, no friction/drag through the cut, no burning. I haven't tried the ripping blade yet, but the 60 tooth ATB blade seems to have been an excellent choice to use as an everyday blade, and may not even need 96 tooth cross cutting blade at all, based on first cuts with this thing.

They're made in Portugal, and given the price, probably not at the same level as AKE, Leuco, etc. But more than good enough for my shop.

I have a Frezite 300mm 96 tooth crosscut blade, blade cuts well and seems well balanced.
As you say probably a small step down from some of the top Brands, I have a couple of German made Gudho blades- excellent.
Something I've not seen mentioned on the forum is the fact that most of the brands ( leuco, Leitz etc) have cheaper lines that are made in China. So if you come across a bargain price top brand blade it's probably not a such bargain.

Glad to hear you've had a good experience too.

Y'know, one of the things I liked best about this was walking into an actual shop, talking to someone who has real experience and knowledge about blades, discussing my needs, getting good advice, and walking out with quality blades at a fair price.

Beats the trousers off of doing hours internet research, second-guessing every review, and waiting weeks for blades made in Italy to be shipped from USA.

Hi RW. I agree wholeheartedly. I am fortunate to also have a great local saw blade sharpening mob who have been really helpful with advice etc.
