You don't indicate which area of Australia you're in. If you live in a tropical, or Sub-tropical humid environment, then maybe have a look at my post regarding this subject; https://www.woodworkforums.com/showth...54#post1815054

I've used Trad Wax & Lanolin spray.
Both OK for a short while.
The Trad Wax doesn't last very long in the heat & the Lanolin spray goes gummy.
I'm currently using Ferro-Pak G15

If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

This might sound odd, but
Strange as it sounds, I use a leather conditioner. Think it's an RM Williams branded one at present, depends what I can get from the local saddlery. As long as it's made from carnauba, beeswax, tallow and neatsfoot oil and contains no silicone or other synthetics. Neatsfoot oil is of course used as a lubricant for metal cutting and combined with the waxes and tallow seems to keep the rust at bay.

The cast iron machine tables at work don't seem to rust at all, but for lube we just use boring paraffin wax (a box of plain white candles will last for ages). Just rub on and use, don't even bother buffing it.

Silverglide here too, for all my cast surfaces.
The stuff is a bit exxy, but a little bit goes a looong way. At my current usage rate, I think my current can will last a decade or so!
