Woodfast TS250 mysterious power failure
Had a mysterious power failure on the WoodfastTS250 - working one minute and then not a few minutes later. It seems the QC might not have been good that day or perhaps the Chinese /Tiawanese have Monday Machines.
Cause appears to have been gradual wear & tear which worked the power lead out of the mechanical lead clamp in the non-standard female socket that plugs directly into the On/Off switch unit. That in combination with incorrectly tensioned screws for the active & neutral clamps meant the sleeved conductor ends eventually worked loose and dropped out of the clamp.Lead now has an additional cable clamp to the saw cabinet to re-route the lead out of harms way.
All sorted now with assistance of work colleague who holds a current electricians ticket.
If you have one of these machines it may pay to have an electrician check them.Last edited by Mobyturns; 16th June 2014 at 09:14 PM. Reason: spaces missing
