Woodfast W688 panel saw
Hey guys, just wondering if any of you are versed in any of the woodfast products and in particular the one mentioned in the title.
My criteria is new cabinet saw, with sliding table and a minimum of 1200 cross cut. This seems to fit the bill, but outside of having a bit of a play with it's smaller brother at carbatec, I don't know much about woodfast equipment. Any ideas on their accuracy, reliability, any known issues etc?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure the TS250RS is the one they sell as a panel saw ,I thought it was the 12" model that had the sliding table extension.
Almost bought a TS250RS , but got talked out of it ,the guy I spoke to said he had one but had the table locked permanently and used a cross cut sled instead ,he was not confident in the tables accuracy . Apart from that he reckons the saw is ok.

Mind sharing what retailer told you that? Craig at hare and forbes seemed confident of it's accuracy when I quizzed him on a few things today. He said there was a fair bit of adjustability it the table. To me that equates to ability to modify it should the need arise. Having said that, if there are any other issues I'd love to know about them!
The model I quoted is a panel saw, albeit a small one. The 12" one you spoke of is it's older brother. Turns out the one I have my eye on hasn't been out for very long, probably why I can't find much info on it.
No where did I put my ginuea pig outfit? lol

IIRC Woodfast don't sell the Ts250RS with the extension to the sliding table , I think its only H&F and maybe Carbatec that sell it in that form.
I spoke to the guy at Woodfast and he said they had no plans to add the extension to thier saw. Also they will not honour any warranty or give support for Woodfast saws bought from other sellers.
The guy I spoke to regarding the Woodfast sliding table is a member of this forum , he has had the saw for a while I believe .I cant recall who it was but I did a search for Woodfast TS250RS and found his post I sent him an PM and enquired about his saw.He answered and told me that he had no confidence in the sliding table , he didn't elaborate on the issue.
Maybe it's just him or he never set the machine up correctly in the first place .I dont know.
Jet also make a model similar which I was looking at , but I decided on a fixed table .
The advice I received was , get a fixed table machine and an accurate mitre gauge.
That's the way I went ,so far I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
I bought my saw from Jet tool shop Townsville ,the advice and help I received from Allan at JTST ,has been spot on.I'd had been procrastinating for over two years regarding a table saw.
The machine I bought (TS10/12 )was also recommended by other members on the forum .
Im not saying the Woodfast machine is no good , I never had a chance to look at it ,I cant just trundle down the street and look at stuff like that because I live in the bush so I had to canvass people for advice and make my decision on advice given .So far that method has worked for me.

All sorted, I'm just going to pick up a TSC-10HB this weekend and worry about designing/fabricating a sliding table for it later.

Good choice I had the saw mentioned previously and was not impressed
