    I just realised this might not be a bad idea if done carefully, though I don't trust my old Ozito belt sander so I'll use the Bosch vibrator.

    EagerBeaver, mine is a Carbatec 12" cabinet saw with a cast iron table top, and yes I do run the belt sander over the top. That keeps the top nice and clean, I do it probably annually or less depends on what is needed, and I use an old belt that is not too aggressive.

    So here's the final version of the Carbatec TS-C250P Zero clearance template. To make the insert blanks, I cut to rough size and use the metal table saw insert plate as the template. Then I just place my template on top, line it up and draw round all the angles and curves. Everything fits perfect.
