Zinken Italiana
This is my first posting on this forum, so here's hoping for some beginner's luck!
Down at the Canberra Railway Museum, we have a 3in1 Saw/Thicknesser/ Spindle Moulder, made by Zinken Italiana. Model type is mia6.
The fellow who originally got this thing has unfortunately gone on to that big workshop in the sky and we can't find any sort of manual for it.
It's quite a complicated bit of kit. This evening, I tried for about an hour to work out how to get the thicknesser blades off for sharpening, but was in danger of having a floor full of bits if I went too far. Even the saw blade seems to be a nightmare to remove.
It also comes with all sorts of attachments, but without some sort of manual, we don't have a clue what they do.
I've tried an internet search on this mob and nothing came up, so I presume they're no longer in the game.
Is there any chance someone out there might have access to a manual?
If we can't work it out, it looks like we might be better to start from scratch.
Thanks in anticipation,
Bob

Bob,
welcome aboard, can't say I've heard of the brand. If no one has a manual you may want to post some close up photos of the problem areas, we may be able to help you suss things out that way.

It's a longshot, but PDF files are available here, if it is the right machine

Burn was right about this site. It's bloody amazing!
That's the machine, Iain. Thanks VERY much for the lead. I'll have to spend a few hours poring over the papers to see how much use they actually are, but it's a great start.
I still think we'll need either a manual or someone who's really cluey about this sort of equipment who might be willing to come to the Museum and see if they can work out what all the attachments do.
Thanks again.
Cheers, Bob

Zinken Mia6 Manual

Hey Bob,
I am the proud owner of a Zinken Mia6 and I'm still working here on earth.
I have the manual you were looking for, in fact I have my machine for sale. I bought it in 1984 and have used it on many projects.
If you are still in need, maybe we can figure out how to get all 40 pages to you.

Zinken Mia6
Hallo Bob,
I also have a problem with a mia6. But maybe I can solve yours. The father of my wife has one and I'm shure, he will also have a manual. Are you still searching for?
If not maybe it's my chance. In our mia6 the switch between saw and thicknesser is defect. If this part ist still OK in your machine and you are not interested in the machine any more maybe you'll sell the part (if you can get it out)?
Best regards Wolfgang Dick

zinken 21
I have photocopied the pages from the user manual for my zinken 21.
Lost the thread for the guy who wanted a copy. Anyone need a copy?
After much research, I have finally got the bits put back into working order.
