    Default Zinken ZC21 combo machine

    Hi guys,

I am new to the forum and specificailly want to start of gathering information on my recently acquired ZC21.

I do have a manual that I found on line in PDF format that seems to cover a lot of aspects.

I ahve also found and read a fair few threads on Zinken and this machine, butmost of those are ancient by now.

Is there anyone still active on this forum who actually owns one of these machines and might be aboe to assist with some queries?

    Cheers, Karel

    Default Zinken combination machine

    Hi Karel
Yes, I own a ZC21 Zinken combo machine.
I purchased in from a Men's Shed. A machinist in the group had taken it on to rebuild it. It had been donated in parts and he worked on it for the best part of a year figuring it out, making parts, finding and replacing the belts, etc.
I joined the Shed, purchased the machine, then had personal situations develop that kept me from using it much.

I did get the jointer and thicknesser set up, adjusted well, and was able to use it.
The table saw works...sort of. There is some adjustment needed, or something was not assembled correctly, so it does some odd things when raising and lowering the blade.

I have never tried to use the shaper, nor have I used the morticer.

So I am not sure how much I can offer from experience.

I have sorted out the major issues in my life and now have a space adequate for a larger combination machine. I found one recently that I purchased, a Luna W59.
I have been setting it up, am about to upgrade to a helical cutter head.
It does have some repair needed, but so far it looks like the truly professional level machine I have long dreamed of owning.

What I am saying (in my round about way) is that I am looking to sell the Zinken. It certainly is smaller, fitting into a small footprint, but it is not what I want.

If you know of someone interested in owning one, please let them know I have one for sale.

Are there specific questions you have about it? Who knows...I might have an answer.

    Cheers,
