    Default 8 inch Hafco planer jointer

    Can anyone recommend the 2hp, 8 inch Hafco planer/jointer? Not sure exactly what I'd use it for, but I've an opportunity to buy one off a friend of a friend...

    I have one Trav.

    The initial setup was time consuming but now it is done properly I have no complaints about the jointer. It is a noisy machine and gernerates LARGE quantities of wood chips so it must be connected to an extractor.
    All up I'd rather have had a quieter machine. Check out the new price of these machines as they have dropped quite a bit recently.
    If the price is good then go for it.

    PS what is his reason for getting rid of the Hafco?
