    Default absolute neewbie

after reading every thread (and now having square eyes )on thicknesser jointer combos and how to set them up, the pending delivery of my new Carbatec 10 inch spiral head combo has rapidly gone from eager anticpation to absolute panic .
phrases like coplanar gibs for adjustment and straight edges now send me into fevered panic attacks .
Even Carbatec themselves aknowledge the instructions are poor so what chance someone like my self has to get it right has become a concern .
Never used one let alone set one up .
Any advice that i can understand would be greatly appreciated ,please remember i have no idea in your advice, or i could become even more confused (not that it takes much now days) .

I believe the Carbatec are rebadged Grizzly machines, when recently putting together my jointer, I looked on the Grizzly site and while there were minor differences between the machines, there was enough information between the two manuals to get it put together.

funny you should mention that the guy at carbatec hinted that they did have a more detailed guide i have printed off a copy from grizzly as you said there are quite a few differences ,so i was alittle nervous if i had the right machine
thanks for taking the trouble to reply much appreciated
