Default Aldi WorkZone Planer Thicknesser Unit

    Hi All

I would like to change my blades upon the unit. I seem to be missing a blade setting tool. Any suggestions on how to acquire this tool to change the blades please

    Default blade setting jig

Mine that came with my Sherwood is essentially a round bar with machined, stepped "U" shaped ends.
But I think the ones in the link will be better...

Is the tool in this video what you are supposed to have for the Aldi machine?

Slightly off topic...that is not the correct way to tighten gib screws.

Start in the middle and work outwards, alternating left and right from centre (eg. if you have 5 screws, the order would be 3,2,4,1,5). This is because the blade deforms slightly from the pressure, so by starting in the middle you allow it to expand outwards; if you start at the ends and work in, you can end up overly stressing the middle of the blade because there's nowhere for it to move which can result in it cracking.
