Faulty seal on 15" thicknesser CTJ381
After only a few hours use I notice that the seal (part No 25) on the lower gearbox shaft is leaking. I can see it was not assembled correctly- looks like part of the outer seal rim has been severed and now protrudes because it was not inserted square. I'm not impressed since I also had to tighten loose bolts in several places.
I've removed the three outer gearbox sprockets and two chains.
Anyway I'm trying to remove the gearbox cover (part No 36) so I can repair/replace the seal but the cover, although separated from the gasket, only moves one mm or so. The exploded parts drawing shows the cover being assembled over the top of the seal but the seal appears to have been inserted after the cover.
Any hints on how to remove this cover?
