Default So I bought a combination machine .....

    Hi,

As the title suggests I recently purchased a combination machine for what I think is a good price. One of the reasons it was so cheap, however, is that it has a few 'issues' ....

It contains a table saw, spindle moulder and combination planer / thicknesser. At present only the spindle moulder is functional.

There doesn't seem to be anything on it to identify who made it, but I think it is Italian in origin, and has an 'Acme Saws & Machines Pty Ltd, Melbourne' sticker on it.

The 3 separate functions are powered by 3 individual 2HP (1.5kW) single phase motors.

Issues I have identified so far include:

    - 2 of the motors may need to be replaced
    - one of the bearing housings for the thicknesser/planer is cracked and has pieces missing
    - the drive belt and pulleys for the thicknesser feed rollers are missing

Nothing that time and money won't sort .

I've attached a photo - if anyone has any thoughts on a manufacturer I would very much appreciate it. A manual would also be great, but I don't like my chances!

Judging from the 'Attenzione' sticker, Italian is probably right. Some more pics, including a motor badge, might help

    Default The Machine,

    Hi Cam,
Many years ago 2 of my woodworking friends each bought a " Lurem "
It seems to be the same Machine, & both had a bit of trouble, but with one of the drive Belts, & cost a fortune.
    Then one found a Wheel that had teeth 4 x ½in. 100 x 12mm.Dia.
If memory serves me he used that white plastic, very hard, so he used that.
    Situation saved.
    Regards,
    issatree.

    issatree,

Thanks for your post. I Googled it, and based on your suggestion it looks like it might be a Lurem 201B. I will now search for more info
