OK, here's one for the machinists: work recently purchased a used SCM F410 jointer from Holmesglen TAFE and it's great - except we can't get the tables to stay co-planar.

Had a tech from Gabbett come out and he spent 5 hours with a straight-edge and dial indicators and finally got it right to within a couple of thou. This was just over a month ago and the tables are way out again; dropping down at the outfeed resulting in a pretty nasty concave in the timber.

It hasn't been bumped or had anything dropped on it so the only thing I can come up with is that the vibrations have worked the lock rings on the eccentric bearings loose or otherwise allowed them to move.

So, the question is: has anyone had a similar experience? and how was it fixed?

Any ideas welcomed as it's really giving us the s**ts.

Cheers,
Elan
