    Default Carba-Tec 15" Thicknesser CTJ-680

I recently bought the Carba-Tec 15" Thicknesser CTJ-680 and have a problem with installing it. Only 2 out of 4 bolt holes align correctly to connect the top half with the base. Has anyone else experienced this problem too?

The instruction manual is a POS. It makes no mention of installing the front wheel (mobile base) and has a roller for the infeed table when the supplied is solid cast-iron.

    Thanks,

    Cin

    G'day Cin,

Try this out http://www.grizzly.com/products/15-Planer/G0453 click on the link to the PDF. This thicknesser is the equivalent of the CTJ-681, but essentially the manual is the same.

All I had to do was put the infeed and outfeed tables and adjustment wheel on, you have to put the top on the base?
I make things, I just take a long time.

    Waldo,

Sorry for the late reply but I just started my a new job and haven't been on the forums much. Thank you very much for sending that link, it is everything an instruction manual should be. The issue remains unsolved and I will need to visit Carba-Tec to find a solution.

I had 2 friends over to help lift the top onto the base and once we did that, only two of the holes aligned properly. It's a bit of a worry.

I know this is an old thread and maybe Cin has solved the problem, but in case he hasn't and for the the benefit of others with the same problem, the solution is fairly simple. The base actually has an infeed side an an outfeed side but it isn't labeled. The solution is therefore to remove the two screws that did align, get friends over to left the top off the base, swing base around 180 degrees and replace the top. All four holes will now align. Don't ask how I know this
