Default New Carbatec Jointer - Tables not Parallel

    Wannabe woodworker here,

So last month I bought a new Sherwood 6 inch cabinet jointer off of Timbecon and had issues with the fence being twisted (which Timbecon confirmed) and the tables were not parallel. After a lot of back and forth this was returned for a refund due to this and some other issues.

So this week instead I bought a Carbatec 6 inch cabinet jointer, well the tables are still not parallel. I'm using a precision Veritas straight edge .003mm tolerance and the infeed sags away on the outer end from the outfield by about .8mm over the 900mm straight edge span.

I've read on websites that gib screws can be used to make adjustments but I've also read that they're only for holding the dovetail in place and not making adjustments.
I've also read that you can only adjust the tables by shimming the outfeed...

Carbatec have said the jointer should be on the same plane from the factory which I've shown them via photos it isn't. They said you can't adjust the table using the gib screws. Still waiting on an outcome for what's next. Oh and they sent the wrong base so I'm waiting for the correct one still.

Am I doing something wrong or should these be bang on when they're brand new?

I feel like I'm having bad luck with getting a jointer and yes I know everyone says to buy an old one....

They should be "bang on" when new. If the gibs are a bit loose it can allow the end of the table can sag a little. Try lifting the ends of the table and see if you can feel any movement of if this brings the tables into alignment. If you can feel or measure any movement then try tightening the gibs. Others may give you a better method but I tighten the adjusters on the gib until I can feel the bed grabbing when you try to move it, then back the adjustors off just a little so the bed runs freely. There are probably several adjustors on the gibs and you will need to do a bit of fiddling with each to get then all with roughly even pressure.
I have an old machine with many 10s of years of work on it and I have to shim the beds. You shouldn't have to shim a new machine.
