Steel washers? I wouldn't be putting anything in there that might mark the column. Maybe some nylon washers? Anything you do put in there probably won't be easy to get out again. Sometimes you just have to do the hard yards.

Looks like it could be cracked in 2 directions.
I understand the hard yards. Before I go any further maybe I should contact Carbatec and see if they have a replacemrnt part
then again can cast iron be rewelded or whatever back togetherI would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

I remember buying this, a member down the South East was selling up his woodworking gear due to ill health.
It has been moved 3 times since then and today I found a spiral head cutter I had bought for it and never got fitted.
So there is an excuse to dismantle it all. shudderI would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds
