Flip the timber end for end and re-cut will give close to 180mm depth of cut.
Splitter needs to be removed for first cut, so proceed with caution.
Search US for Delta blades - 22-562.

How do you guys resize you timber? Do you use the tablesaw or a bandsaw?
I find that I loose too much on the table saw. And how close do you get the timber to size before using the thicknesser? If i'm sizing to 18mm, I use the table saw to bring the timber to about 21mm, just to make sure that I don't have gouges in the timber, and then use the thicknesser to bring it down to 18mm. (seems to be about 5 - 6 passes per piece)

The reason I ask this is maybe I'm just overworking the same piece of timber. (Therefore blunting my blades too quickly)

I have already tried to purchase from the internet and keep coming up with "No international orders".

So I emailed Delta last week about who the local distributor was.
As it turns out, Black and Decker bought out the Delta and Porta Cable group last year! I thought to myself, great now I can buy spare parts from Bunnings (NOT).

They gave me the local Black and Decker no. , which I rang.
The told me that Carbatec is the authorised distributor for this product, so I'm back to square one.

Some time ago a couple of us has problems with blade life and the cost of replacements. We now have a jig to sharpen the blades (or give them a quick touch up) to get a bit more life out of them before throwing them out.

Carbatec still sell 12.5" blades in TCT or HSS that should suit this machine http://www.carbatec.com.au/blades/th...jointer-blades

Talk to the Brisbane shop and should be able to confirm especially if you send them some images of the existing blades (especially their profile)

I have been bying them from the US.

My last order cost me $110.00 for 2 sets including freight.
