Dewalt Radial Arm Saw Router Attachment
Gday Lads!
Ive got a Dewalt 721 radial arm saw, and have a big job coming up soon which will involve a fair bit of trenching. Ive got an old hand held makita groove cutter "trencher" but was prefering not to have to hang onto it all day, which leads me to this, In instruction manual for the RAS it shows brackets available for the saw to attach a router to it. Not much info comes up on google about them, or anyones experience, has anyone out there used one, are they any good? acurate? worth the hastle of chasing one down?
Thanks in advance
Simon.

The Dewalt bracket suits only a limited number of Elu routers, if my memory serves correct. There are a couple of things I might find it useful for (stopped dado and circle cutting), but straight trenching wouldn't be one of them. For that you'd fit a dado set on the spindle. I know the Makita trenchers will take cutters up to 46mm wide, which is about double what the dado sets can do, but that just means two passes with a dado set. Using a flip over stop block on your fence will let you do the two passes pretty quickly and accurately.
