dust extractor for carbatec spiral head thicknesser
I am about to purchase a Carbatec spiral head 13 inch thicknesser. Carbetec tell me that this unit requires a 2 hp extractor which is a big unit and quite tall far too large for my workshop. Has anyone had any other options for for this thicknesser.

In terms of physical size it's <2m tall - how much height have you got in your shed?
In terms of performance it's definitely not too big - if anything it will be too small. Have a read of the sticky thread at teh top of teh Dust forum for ways of getting a bit more grunt out out it.

Go to the main forum menu
Scroll down till you get to the "dust" forum its quite a long way down
The first few threads are "stickies" - appear (always) at the top of the dust forum
The thread is called "The generic 2HP DC"
I could give you the link but then you wouldn't learn how these forums work.
