EMCO-Rex-2000
Just picked up this for my first jointer/thickness planer. I have changed the belts removed some of the rust from the bed.
problem is one of the gears are rounded over

does anyone know where i can get some made? i have looked online but i can't find the exact part. Seeing as this was made in like 1986. It looks like a common fault with the mechine.
Any help would be greatfull.

Found these, hopefully one of them is what you need because having one custom made will almost definitely cost a lot more than you paid for the whole machine (I work for a gear manufacturer, one-offs are very expensive)

Contact a gear manufacturer and let us know how much change you get from a grand to have one made. I'm not kidding, custom gears are expensive.

Reply from a non metal worker/welder.
Assuming the gear wheel is unusable.
Is it feasible to weld on some filler then grind down.
I might learn something from this.

Sorry mate, this isn't Lego anything you buy off the shelf will have to be modified to suit.
If you have a metalworking lathe and are comfortable boring out stock parts, making a shaft to suit and keying the parts in place, you could most likely make a serviceable replacement. If you have to pay someone else to do the work it will be significantly cheaper to just buy the proper part unless you have a mate who will work for beer (even then it'll probably cost a couple of nice slabs and I don't think you'll come out much ahead).
I know it's not what you want to hear, but just be happy that replacement parts even exist; with a 30+ year old machine that's not always an option
